Stockimo was developed past Alamy to appeal to a new photography enthusiast, the artistic mobile photographer, allowing them to cash in on photos lying fallow in their camera rolls. Stockimo is an app that'south plugged into Alamy, and so photos that are accepted are priced and sold aslope Alamy uploaded images, but that's pretty much the only link between the two platforms. There are some similarities between the two but there are as well many differences, one of the main ones being Quality Command, more on that afterwards.

The upload process is quick and simple, just choose your best photos from your phone, give them an appropriate explanation and a couple tags and y'all're already halfway there. What we're looking for is the more artistic visionary photography than more traditional editorial stock, another divergence is that Stockimo only allows i photo to be uploaded at a time therefore avoiding the batch process that Alamy uses. And so effort to focus and edit downwards your camera whorl and choice the best of your collection to upload.

One of the great features within the app is the Customer Likes tab which gives yous a real time feed of what'southward trending with Alamy customers. This allows you to become a true insight into the industry and what stock photography customers are searching for and buying. This can exist used as inspiration for what to go out and shoot with your mobile, or find already sitting on your camera curl.

Similarly to Alamy, Stockimo reviews your images to run into if they're suitable for the app/website but this is where Stockimo works very differently to Alamy. With Alamy as long every bit yous have a decent enough camera and tin can shoot images without whatsoever technical faults, we get out information technology up to you on what to upload.

Conversely with Stockimo, nosotros're looking for photos shot on mobile, merely that's pretty much it on the technical side. What Stockimo looks at is purely based on the aesthetics of the photograph and this is done past the Rating Team.

The Rating Squad is made up of people from the photo manufacture, including buyers and sellers of photography and volunteers from the Stockimo customs who've reached Rater Status. Each photograph uploaded needs to be reviewed by three different members of the team. Each person will score your photo out of 4, an boilerplate is taken and anything rated over 2 volition be accustomed. The Team score photos based on: emotive response, creativity and saleability and whilst there's an element of subjectivity, taking an average across 3 different people provides a conclusive rating.

Never Stop Exploring

Sales:

Stockimo photos are sold on the Stockimo Marketplace, the main site being Alamy where they're sold alongside Alamy uploaded images at the aforementioned price points and licence options. Just considering the photos have been shot on mobile information technology doesn't mean they are worth whatever less to the contributor or to a potential client. Obviously there volition be some limitations over what the photos can be used for due to the sensor and lens size, so it's unlikely to sell for big billboards.
