5 Minute DIY: How to Make Inkblot Napkins
Inkblots are on my radar right at present, in a big way, and I had a pretty large stack of textile napkins laying around from last calendar month'due south workshop. So, I made these easy inkblot napkins…and they took all of v minutes to consummate (not including drying time).
They're swell for everyday entertaining, but I was besides thinking they would make a nice hostess gift or a Mother'southward Day souvenir if your mom loves entertaining (or has a affair for napkins). Y'all could endeavour the technique on other textiles as well, depending on what you lot're looking for…tea towels, blankets, pillows, etc.
Are yous convinced yet? You totally demand a fix of these right? Right! Here's how to make your own inkblot napkins in about five minutes…
Materials:
fabric paint (I used SoSoft fabric paint)
solid color cloth napkins (mine are from W Elm)
paint castor (optional)
How To:
i. Squirt pigment onto a textile napkin at random. You lot can practise long lines, dots, etc. If you concentrate the pigment toward the center, y'all'll go a more solid shape, like the example tutorial. But if you lot're looking for more organic allover patterns, I would recommend staying away from the heart for the most part with the paint.
two. And so fold the napkin in one-half and push button downward / smooth out. I found that after doing the first napkin, it'southward actually better to unfold the unabridged napkin and then fold it over from there. I seemed to go more intersting patterns that way (which y'all tin can encounter in the second photo beneath).
